Assignment 19: Idea Napkin No.2
1.
My name is JP Eichler and I am a General Studies
major with a specialization in Sports Management at the University of Florida.
I have been told by others that I have a talent in being able to play all kinds
of sports and being able to learn things quickly. I believe that I am a good
leader and I am fairly good with computers and knowing how to do things with
different software programs. My aspirations are to be a manager with some sort
of sports team and to also coach my children in the future and instill the love
of sports in them that I have. I see this app as a way to help spread the love
of sports to all those at the University of Florida and eventually a larger
group of people through facilitating the organization of sports activities with
this app.
2.
The app is called Sports LFG which means Looking
for Game, and it is an app that those who wish to play a specific sport use to
post and communicate with others who want to play the same things. On it, you
can post what sport you want to play, what time, what place, how many people
you have already, how many people you need, and eventually direct message
someone who has the same wishes. This will allow strangers to get into contact
with each other to organize sports activities.
3.
I would begin by offering it to college students
at the University of Florida but eventually I would like to expand it further.
These people are smart, determined, and have a love for sports. They all know
when a product is good and when a product is bad. They all have a determination
to get what they want and most important of all, they want to play sports.
4.
People would care about this product because it
would allow people to play sports with those outside of their friend group.
Also, it would allow people to try new sports that they would have never played
because they could get strangers to play with them as well. It would allow for
more people to come in contact with each other, making scheduling easier and
more fitting for everyone.
5.
What sets me apart from everyone else is that I
am a natural leader and I feel most comfortable in a leadership position.
Organizing sports comes natural to me and I have been doing this my whole life
on and off the playing venue. With my friends I have been organizing sports for
many years and I have been a leader on my sports teams for basically my whole
life.
6.
The feedback I received from the last one is all
positives but I know some problems I can face. I would need to hire someone to
make the product and service the product. I would also need to get people to
pay money to advertise on my app which would take a long time. Profit would not
come unless there were a lot of downloads and a lot of traction. This would
take a long time.
Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteIt was cool to see how even though you saw only positives for your opportunity, you decided to look for something that you could improve on. Apps are a hard niche to get into, but with the right people, your app has the ability to be very successful. I have been following your opportunity throughout the semester and it is cool to see how it is all coming together.
Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteI like how you are thinking ahead of on certain things that might become a problem later down the road once you have already established your app. I would like to say that with an app it can sometimes be hit or miss but with society becoming more focused on technology that this has the potential of doing well. One thing I would like to point out is that you could have more options for the user like have a premium version with no ads and have it where the people who paid have first dibs on joining a pick game.
Hello Jonathan,
ReplyDeletei do think that you did a better job on this napkin idea, you really focused on how to improve it and you did a great job. although all your feedback you received from the last napkin idea were all positives you still thought on some problems by your own and how you can face them, and that is really impressive. good your on your post i really liked it. I can face.
