Assignment 18: Create a Custom Avatar


The target audience that I have decided to target are UF students. Typically, UF students are very hard working and diligent. They are also smart so they know when a product sounds good or bad. There is no real way to create an avatar that encompasses the people that want to use my app so I made an avatar of the typical person that I see at Southwest Rec Center playing basketball.

This person is in a fraternity and loves to play basketball and other sports with the boys. They also enjoy watching football, basketball, baseball and any other American sport. They also find that they have trouble finding times to fit this into their schedule but don’t really want to pay for something to help them schedule times to play. They enjoy playing but don’t like the crowds and waiting around. They typically drive a scooter around campus. They like pay attention to politics but they don’t like reading books very much; they would much rather use Sparknotes to read the book. These individuals are in their 20’s but they still feel like they are teenagers because they love to do things that aren’t professional.

Some things that I have in common are that I too feel younger than I actually am. Currently, I am 20 years old but I still feel like I am in my late teens because I don’t have a job yet. I also like to play sports with my friends and like to watch sports on TV as well. Me and this avatar have a lot in common because we are very similar. We probably grew up playing sports and fell in love with sports in the same way. I don’t believe this is a coincidence because there are a lot of people in the world who love sports just like me.

    Johnathan,

    I thought this was a good customer to look for when providing this app that you will create. It is important that you share similar qualities with this consumer because that means you are creating something that even you see could potentially be a solution. Good Job.

    I think you did a great job of coming up with a custom avatar that fits your target audience. It's good that you have something in common with your custom avatar so that you can relate to them. I think you did an amazing job on this assignment and I think that your idea will meet the needs of your target that you are pursuing.

Assignment 27: Reading Reflection No.3

1.        What surprised me the most about the Wright Brothers is that they lived in their family home when they were 30 and began to take interest in their invention at this age. What I admire most about them is that they took on a challenge that everyone thought was impossible and actually made it happen. What I least admire about them is that they still stayed at the family home as adults but this really doesn’t bother me that much; there’s not much I can find that I hate about them from reading this book.
