Assignment 9: Testing the Hypothesis Part 2


The need that I have identified is the difficulty in scheduling recreational sports with friends and strangers. The ideal customer is one who plays sports several times per week but has trouble finding groups. I interviewed 5 people at southwest who had found a group to play basketball with. They should have had the need that I identified because they are not in a formal league but it turns out they said they had no problems with playing sports. They all said that they just show up to the gym and it is usually busy enough to find a group. However, 2 of them said that they did have trouble before they could go to Southwest because they had been Santa Fe students and were not able to go to the UF gyms. They were forced to play outside and there are significantly less people playing outside of Southwest Rec center. This narrows the market a bit for this solution because not as many people had the need as I had expected.

Who: Santa Fe students, those who do not play at SW
Who: Those who play at busy venues at busy times
What: A need for more players
What: They have enough players to play usually
Why: This is because they cannot go to the gym at all or cannot go when the gym is busy
Why: They know when the gym is busy and schedule around that so they have enough players to play

    as a sports enthusiast i can say i can 100% get behind this idea as it is very difficult to schedule people who want to play a sport of some kind that isnt intramural. This solution is a great way to connect students with like minded individuals. Great work on the post, I cant wait to see how your idea evolves over the next few assignments

    I think this could work even if your target group is kind of small, but I would not just limit your opportunity. I think if you have public eras to play basketball games or other sports, it would help with expanding your target audience. Maybe that's something you can incorporate in your app having specific locations that everyone can go too.

    I have to say that i really enjoyed reading your blog. because I really enjoy playing sports, I think that this is a great idea. And also I believe that this assignment is a great way to identify opportunities inside the idea and to see things inside and outside the “Boundary”

Assignment 27: Reading Reflection No.3

1.        What surprised me the most about the Wright Brothers is that they lived in their family home when they were 30 and began to take interest in their invention at this age. What I admire most about them is that they took on a challenge that everyone thought was impossible and actually made it happen.
