Assignment 2: Bug List

Bug List

1. The vast majority of the people trying to play pickup basketball at Southwest Recreation Center all play the same way. This is because the people that play there are mostly not tall or big enough to play other positions such as center, power forward, etc.

2. My condo is on the complete opposite side of Heavener Hall where all of my classes are. This is because my condo was built near the Southwest corner of campus and Heavener was built on the very Northeast corner of campus, making my commute as long as possible.

3. The majority of grocery stores are only open until 9, 10 or 11 at night. This is because they cannot find or employ anyone during the night shift.

4. Shirts that fit perfectly when I try them on in the store then shrink after I wash and dry them. This happens because I put the dry load on “heated dry” instead of “air dry”.

5. The bus drivers who stop very abruptly and aggressively when pulling up to a bus stop. They do this because either they were caught off guard by people waving the bus down late or they don’t realize that they are stopping aggressively.

6. The different schedules of my friends make planning events and such quite difficult. This is because not everyone lives the exact same life and schedule.

7. People who say “no ya” or “ya no” instead of saying one or the other. They say this because they are trying to say two things at once.

8. Gift cards don’t tell you the exact amount that is on the card; one would have to call the number in order to figure out the amount on the card. This is because it is too tedious or expensive to install technology on a gift card that shows a live update of the amount on the card.

9. Having the best fantasy football team in the league with a 12-1 record and losing in the first round of playoffs. This is because I played the worst QB on my team for 2 weeks in a row thinking he would be good at football.

10. Sports video games that make your team perform worse than another person’s team simply because you are better than the other person. This is because the developers want to make the game “fair” and give them a chance to win.

11. Sports video games change very little of what the consumers want them to change. This is because they do not want to work harder when they can just sell the same game with updated player statistics.

12. iPhones change charger and earbud jacks on their phones every 1-2 generations, making my old wired ear buds unusable. They do this because they want us to buy their new products.

13. There’s no parking during the day for cars of people who live off campus like me. This is because the campus needs parking for those who go to class with their cars who pay to live on campus.

14. My statistics class has a lot of people come so I have had to sit on the floor for the first two lectures. This is because the amount of people attending the class exceeds the number of chairs available.

15. My girlfriend likes to be on her phone a lot during movies or TV shows that we watch together, then asks me what happens when she misses an important scene. She does this because apparently, she has a lot of things to look at on whatever social media platform she is on.

16. People singing in a group to a “throwback” song. They do this because they want to have connection with other people and have a good time.

17. People who I know that I see in public and make eye contact with me but pretend to not see me and don’t say hello when they walk by. They do this because they don’t want to go through the effort of saying hello to someone they know.

18. The fact that basketball shoes wear down so quickly and are pretty expensive for a college student. This is because I use my basketball shoes a lot and the quality of the material used in the not the best.

19. People who get mad at you for wearing the same outfit as them when you had no prior knowledge of what they were going to wear. They do this because they wanted to feel special but me wearing the same outfit makes them not stand out.

20. Water fountains that aren’t cold in Florida’s climate. This is because either there is something wrong with the fountain or the water was just sitting to long and became hot in the pipes.

Comments

  1. This is was very interested and definitely relatable to a kid like me. I have noticed things such as how water fountains are warmer in florida climate relative to NY where I grew up. I also noticed that everyone at Southwest Recreational center does play basketball all in the same style of the game due to their lack of size and skill. It is amusing to watch but not fun to play against these people because the games get very very intense
