An investigation is taking place. They say that there is a site that links directly to a $35 preview option but the link doesn’t work according to the article. Parents have to pay for their own lodging separately as well. People are very dissatisfied from the looks of it.

Tolls begin Nov. 9 in Seattle’s new Highway 99 tunnel; here’s what you’ll pay
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/tolls-begin-nov-9-in-the-new-highway-99-tunnel-heres-what-youll-pay/
The city of Seattle is now implementing a $2 toll on the tunnel that runs through downtown. This will affect those attempting to go downtown or just pass by it without going through the actual downtown area. This tunnel has a lot of traffic currently so this may cause people to take a different route but it will probably slow it down due to people having to stop and pay the toll. The major theme of this article is that people are dissatisfied with this decision and it is coming with short notice. People only have about 2 months to prepare for this change or to buy a toll pass.

Tackling the Housing Affordability Crisis
Americans are facing a crisis in being able to find homes that they can either buy or rent. Many Americans are becoming homeless because they cannot afford to live anywhere and it is becoming more and more detrimental to society, specifically the lower class. Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation are using $1 billion to attempt to stop the crisis from continuing. This will not solve the problem, however, and will need more than just that money to solve this problem.

  1. Hi Johnathan!
Thanks for sharing these articles! It is very interesting to see what different towns have different opportunities on. The article I found more interesting was the one about UF preview prices. I also saw this article the other day and found it questionable that the University was doing this. I remember when I went to preview, I was also dissatisfied with how much it was. As if going to a university wasn’t expensive enough.

  2. Johnathan,

I thought all of these articles were great and you did a great job describing them in your own words. I specifically liked the first article about the UF preview prices. I thought it was ridiculous how much they are charging UF students and I am glad to hear that they are looking into this situation. Great post.

  3. Hi, Johnathan great job on the articles. I like the one about the tunnel, and how they are making it a toll road in Seattle. I think it may help reduce a little bit of traffic, but I think it will lead to more problems like people using the road but not paying the toll. When I went to visit Seattle the traffic was extremely horrible, but I don't think by putting a toll road it's going to make much of a difference with all the traffic that already exists.

  4. Hi johnathan,
I have to say that i really enjoyed reading this post. I really liked the one about the toll in seattle. I believe the reason why that tunel was made is because it was supposed to reduce traffic in downtown and send the people that need to pass through downtown by another rout, and now that there is a toll only those people will be more inclined to do so. Great post, good job!
